8BitMods teasing their Dreamcast version of the MemCard Pro
Currently no Dreamcast ODE transmits game ID. However, openMenu for GDEMU will eventually do this specifically for the VM2. There were talks of 8BitMods' VMU supporting MODE for this same function, but TerraOnion hasn't produced a firmware update for that product since 2021.

Nov 27, 2020 · $250 is high, but it's important to keep in mind the cost of the internals is around $150 (It's the KiteRetro Circuit Gem kit) plus cost and labor it makes a lot more sense. The Pi, battery and VMU can add another $50 so you can see his markup/cost for labor isn't really high.

Mar 7, 2011 · Super simple. Ok we're used to using CR2032 with the VMU. Some of us may have accidently purchased rechargeable CR2032 in the past only to find out the dreamcast controller doesn't charge them. LIR2032 are actually rechargeable CR2032 batteries (LIR = Litium Ion Rechargeable). You have to use a charging station to recharge them.

Sep 8, 2022 · With Micro and Mini USB you can eyeball most variants, but USB C has more variants that offer different things. Like some 2.0 only versions. As common as USB-C is these days, personally I have two USB 2.0 USB-C cables, and that is it. I could see the assembly and board space requirements being a cause of resistance.

Jun 28, 2023 · I have 7 vmu (one 4x third party and 3 original) and im tired of thinking "this is for the arcade and shoot em umps, this two are for racings games, but sega rally and Daytona has is own, this is for sonic 2 and the chao garden, this is for half life 1 which need and entire vmu, this is for long games like Lodoss war, this is for fighting games

Jul 11, 2022 · The VM2 has type c usb pc connectivity. I would say that your dream becoming reality is not too far off as some of the emulator coders have been waiting for this to happen but I never believe vapour until I see it. Keep those fingers crossed though buddy, I want the same thing too. If not, I'm just going to have to buy a real Dreamcast.
