Maroubra (/ m ə ˈ r uː b r ə / mə-ROO-brə) is a beachside suburb in the Eastern Suburbs [3] of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 10 kilometres south-east of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Randwick.

One of Australia’s top surfing beaches, Maroubra is best enjoyed outdoors. An official National Surfing Reserve, the spectacular 1km-long beach is wrapped by a rocky headland, natural bushland and expansive green parks, perfect for picnics and walking adventures.

Less famous than Bondi and not as touristy as its neighbour Coogee, Maroubra beach perches on a 1.1km long bay, surrounded by windswept dunes, wild bushland and a rocky headland.
