Feb 15, 2021 · Apple Maps Navigation not preventing automatic screen lock, how do I make it stop the phone screen from dimming and locking while using Apple Maps? When I use Wave or Google Maps, the phone screen stays open despite auto-lock in the Settings. Those two other apps also prevent the display from dimming while they are in use for navigation.

Oct 23, 2024 · Same here. I had the iPhone 15 with iOS 17 and only use Apple maps. As soon as I upgraded to iOS18 maps starts out fine, but several times in a short period of time will show me offgrid and re-route me. Someone suggested I use Waze so I downloaded that and had the same issue. iOS18.1 didn't resolve the issue.
