During the White House press briefing, NBC News’ Peter Alexander asked if President Trump’s deportation priority has changed from what he said on the campaign trail, that violent criminals would be the focus.

In Tuesday’s White House briefing, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the Trump administration considers any migrant who has entered the United States illegally 'a criminal.'

President Donald Trump on Monday suggested sending repeat criminal offenders to foreign countries, suggesting the move may cut the government’s spending on prisons, following an escalation of arrests across the country in recent days as part of what Trump has promised would be the “largest deportation operation” in U.

"We're going to get approval, hopefully, to get them the hell out of our country... let them be brought to a foreign land," Trump said.
