US Cellular to sell select spectrum assets to Verizon for $1 billion
United States Cellular said on Friday it has agreed to sell some of its spectrum licenses to Verizon in a $1 billion deal. U.S. Cellular's shares jumped 3.9% in trading before the bell. The company will sell portion of its spectrum licenses used for mobile phone signals and high-speed data services to Verizon.

UScellular sells spectrum to Verizon in $1 billion deal
UScellular has reached a $1 billion agreement with Verizon to sell part of its spectrum holdings, the company has announced. The deal includes spectrum licences in the 850 MHz band, as well as AWS (Advanced Wireless Services; i.e., 695–2200 MHz) and PCS (Personal Communications Services; i.e.,1850–1995 MHz) licenses.

As UScellular proceeds with a proposed $4.4 billion acquisition of its wireless operations by T-Mobile US—which would essentially turn the mobile network operator into an infrastructure company—the last of the large regional MNOs has struck a deal to sell some of its remaining spectrum assets to Verizon for a billion dollars.

Regional cellular provider UScellular has announced an agreement to sell a portion of its spectrum to Verizon for $1 billion. The company, which announced the deal over the weekend (October 18), revealed it has also additionally entered into agreements with two other unnamed mobile network operators for the sale of selected spectrum licenses.
