The incident occurred near a police station in the Varasiya locality around midnight when three individuals on a two-wheeler were intercepted by locals questioning their presence in the area so late at night.

The incident comes in the wake of a series of attacks on people moving about at night, owing to the viral social media messages asking residents to stay alert and prevent dacoit attacks in their neighbourhoods.
