Salvation Army bell ringers are reporting fewer coins in kettles this year. The organization had set a goal of raising $21 million this holiday season in the Chicago area. Holiday fundraising pays for 75% of the organization's annual operating budget.

The Salvation Army Bell Ringers had one last day to receive as many donations as they can for their red kettle campaign. Starting in November every year, Salvation Army volunteers stand beside their Red Kettles and ring their bells in hopes that their community will put a donation in the kettle.
