PITTSBURGH -- Sidney Crosby passed 1,600 NHL points with a goal and two assists for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday.

The Pittsburgh Penguins captain reached the milestone in the first period after assisting on a power-play goal from Bryan Rust. Crosby became the 10th player in NHL history to record the milestone. Crosby reached the points benchmark in 1,277 games, the fifth-fastest player in NHL history to reach 1,600 points, according to Penguins PR.
