Tech company Nothing has big plans for 2025, as a leaked email already revealed. But though we knew a new phone announcement was imminent, today’s model is a surprise. Instead of the expected Phone (3), it’s the Phone (3a) series. Here’s why this makes sense.

Nothing is launching a new device, the Phone 3a Series, on March 4. That's a year after the London-based company launched the Phone 2a, which is a budget version of the brand's Phone 2 model released in 2023.

Following the company's first quarterly update of 2025 (near the 13:42 mark), a press release further confirms a launch date for the Phone 3a. According to Nothing, consumers should prepare to hear more about the upcoming midrange on March 4 at 5 am ET. Curiously, during the update, the company confirmed a slightly altered moniker for the device.
