Manchester airport recorded its busiest ever December last month, with 2.2 million passengers using the northern gateway. The busiest day was December 29, with almost 89,000 people passing through the hub. The record December figure came at the end of the airport’s busiest year, which saw more than 30 million passengers.

This record-breaking number is 4.7 million more than in 2023 and 3 million more than the previous annual record in 2019, before the pandemic. Heathrow forecasts it will serve 84.2 million passengers this year.
