JCPS students were set to return to classrooms this following the winter break, but now with more snow in the forecast, students have another snow day.

JCPS says the icy side roads and anticipated snow has led the district to cancel classes for Friday, January 10, 2025. The day will be traditional snow day for students with no online learning. All JCPS employees will telecommute, and all athletic events and extracurricular activities are canceled.

Louisville-area schools are watching the weather forecast as a winter storm system is expected to reach Kentucky on Friday.

With classes resuming across Central Texas, winter weather could impact students getting into the swing of things. Thursday's winter weather threat appears to be diminishing with mainly cold rain in the forecast across the Austin area.

JCPS likely will not make a decision for Thursday until Wednesday evening, spokesperson Carolyn Callahan said.
