Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday repeated his false claim that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, are eating their neighbors’ pets, using a town hall with undecided Hispanic voters to prop up misinformation that has been rejected by local and statewide leaders from both parties.

Donald Trump has refused to admit he falsely accused Haitian immigrants of eating peoples’ pets as he doubled down on his statements during a Univision town hall Wednesday with undecided Latino voters.

The former president told voters in Florida that he was simply reporting what had happened in Springfield, Ohio.
