And listen, at this point complaining about Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s displays of sisterhood is tired from anyone who hasn’t shot two films back to back and sung the musical’s iconic songs live.

Just ask Cynthia Erivo, who stepped out to celebrate the musical movie Jan. 5 at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, where she was for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.

Cynthia Erivo continued her method dressing streak for the Golden Globes 2025 on Sunday in Los Angeles. Instead of wearing green in a nod to her “Wicked” character Elphaba, Erivo defied gravity in a sculptural Louis Vuitton gown.

The actor stepped onto the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Hollywood, California, in another Elphaba-inspired outfit. She wore a voluminous black gown emblazoned with a an ornate pattern in metallic silver. The V-shaped neckline plunged down to a scalloped peplum attachment, which added more drama to the sculptural look.

If you thought you had Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s Golden Globes looks all figured out, think again. Sure, it might have been easy to assume they’d show up in pink and green—an homage to their Wicked roles as Glinda and Elphaba.
