It is highly unlikely that Panzer will be given another year at K-State, and he knows it. That is why he has prepared himself to step away from football and go pro in something other than sports.

He is the sixth K-State football player to win the award. He joins former Wildcats Meshak Williams (2012), Ryan Mueller (2014), Jordan Willis (2016) and Felix Anudike-Uzomah (2021 and 2022).
