ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to report the Lions signed Morton as offensive coordinator. The New York Times reported that the Lions signed Morton, citing a league source.

Of those seven jobs, six remain open (the Patriots hired Mike Vrabel) and Detroit Lions coordinators are candidates for at least five of those. As a result, ESPN NFL insider believes that offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn will both end up landing head coaching jobs this cycle.

The Detroit Lions appear to be closing in on a new offensive coordinator. Denver Broncos pass game coordinator John Morton is set to replace Ben Johnson
