Authorities are investigating a shooting involving a U.S. Border Patrol agent in northern Vermont. Vermont State Police said the shooting happened Monday afternoon on Interstate 91 in Coventry, about 20 miles (32 km) from the Canadian border.

One suspect, a German national, is deceased, and a second suspect, a U.S. citizen, sustained injuries, authorities said.
