Sara’s father Urfan Sharif, stepmother Beinash Batool and uncle Faisal Malik are on trial at the Old Bailey accused of the 10-year-old’s murder.

Sara Sharif was found with injuries including puncture wounds, burns, bruising and abrasions at the family home in Woking, Surrey, jurors at the Old Bailey were told. A post-mortem examination found Sara had suffered injuries including "probable human bite marks", an iron burn and scalding from hot water.

A bone marrow disease found in Sara Sharif’s hands could have been caused by “starvation”, a court heard. Injuries to Sara’s wrist and neck bones were shown in court on the fourth day of the 10-year-old girl’s murder trial.
