IT giant Wipro announced on Thursday reported its quarterly results ending on September 31, 2024. The IT giant posted a 21% surge in its net profit to ₹ 3,209 crore, compared to ₹ 2,646 crore in the same period last year.

Shares of IT behemoth and the country's fourth-largest IT company, Wipro, surged nearly 4% today after the company's board of directors approved a 1:1 bonus issue. This also comes on the back of positive Q2 results declared by the company yesterday.

Wipro's consolidated net profit for Q2 FY25 rose by nearly 7 percent quarter-on-quarter to Rs 3,209 crore, surpassing Moneycontrol's estimate of Rs 3,011 crore. Revenue from operations increased by 1.5 percent QoQ to Rs 22,302 crore, beating Moneycontrol's forecast of Rs 22,219 crore.

The consolidated revenue of Wipro dropped 1% YoY to ₹22,302 crore in Q2 FY25, from ₹22,543 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The Q3FY25 guidance was muted due to furloughs and softness in key regions, particularly in Europe. Sectors like manufacturing and energy remain soft, with signs of a potential revival but no immediate turnaround.
