The Algoma Verity was carrying salt. Crews are working to dislodge a cargo ship that became stuck in the Delaware River on Wednesday night while hauling salt, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

A cargo ship carrying table salt is being dislodged Thursday after it got stuck in the Delaware River in Philadelphia, the U.S. Coast Guard said.The ship was heading north up the river when it got stuck about a mile past the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.

The ship ran aground in the Delaware River north of the Ben Franklin Bridge. It is carrying 45,000 tons of solar salt, according to the Coast Guard.

A cargo ship that ran aground while water levels in the Delaware River were low is still stuck and the U.S. Coast Guard has no timeline of when the ship might be dislodged.
