England skipper Jos Buttler sees veteran leg-spinner Adil Rashid as the team's most important player in the T20 setup after his special skills were on display in the third match against India

Jos Buttler hailed Adil Rashid as the ‘most important player’ in England’s white-ball team after he starred in the 26-run T20 victory over India in Rajkot. Having won the first two T20 matches, India would have taken an unassailable lead in the five-match series had they won the third game but the hosts fell 26 runs short of England’s 171-9.

Jos Buttler's England side have named their Playing 11 for the first T20I match against India at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday.

During his innings, Buttler crossed the 600-run mark against India in T20Is, becoming the first player to achieve this feat. His current tally of 611 runs surpasses Nicholas Pooran's 592, with Buttler achieving the milestone in four more matches than the West Indian batter.

Skipper Jos Buttler was lone warrior for England in the 1st T20I against India at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Buttler's half-century kept England afloat after they were down to 83/5 at one stage. While Buttler was the only Englishman to score 20-plus runs, only two other batters scored in double-figures.

England defeated India by 26 runs in the must-win third T20I to keep their hopes of winning the series alive. After the hosts won the first two games of the five-match series, Jos Buttler’s team knew they had to win in Rajkot and did so thanks to a superb bowling display.
