With high winds driving the flames, a fast-moving wildfire exploded to roughly 10,200 acres near the Los Angeles County community of Castaic Wednesday — prompting mandatory evacuation orders for tens of thousands of people.

The Hughes Fire in northern Los Angeles County near Santa Clarita has led to mandatory evacuation notices for Interstate 5.

The blaze temporarily closed parts of Interstate 5 and prompted evacuation orders and warnings for more than 50,000 people.
