Gov. Jeff Landry said he believed President Donald Trump's team was "going back to the drawing board" to streamline federal grant spending.

NEW ORLEANS — Two days after it was signed, the Trump Administration rescinded an order that would have frozen trillions of federal dollars.

Gov. Jeff Landry and other Republican state officials are trying to prepare for potential cuts to Louisiana’s federal funding, despite confusion over how far President Donald Trump’s attempt to halt support to state and local governments will go.

"We believe that we are placing adequate resources into the state coffers to ensure stability for the time being," said Landry's statement, which was issued jointly with state Senate President Cameron Henry, state House Speaker Phillip DeVillier and state Treasurer John Fleming.
