Indy DPW prepares for another round of snow Friday
INDIANAPOLIS — Indy DPW crews have been hard at work plowing snow and treating about 4,000 lane miles of thoroughfares and secondary streets. More snow is expected Friday . Of the department's 70 trucks, 13 were sidelined due to mechanical issues.
How long will the snow stick around? How cold will it get in Indiana this week?
Jason Puma, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, said the snow probably will stick around through the whole week or beyond. The NWS does not expect temperatures to rise above freezing during that time.
Here's how long forecasters think Indy's snow will stay on the ground
The National Weather Service forecast through Friday shows high temperatures hovering between 22-28 degrees during the days and dipping into single digits each night, giving the roughly 8 inches of snow on the ground every reason to stay put for a while.
