ATLANTA (AP) — A Delta Air Lines flight returned to the Atlanta airport soon after taking off Monday when crew members reported a smoky haze inside the cockpit, according to federal officials.

Delta Air Lines is offering passengers who were on the flight that crashed and overturned at Toronto Pearson International Airport $30,000 each.

Delta Air Lines is offering to pay $30,000 to each passenger of Delta Connection Flight 4819, which crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday afternoon. The Atlanta-based airline confirmed the amount Wednesday afternoon.
