Wegmans is recalling frozen chicken nuggets in eight states and the District of Columbia because there may be bone fragments in the packages.

Wegmans, a grocer based in upstate New York, has announced plans to open its first Pittsburgh-area store. An opening date was not announced, but the store will span 115,000 square feet and will be located on a 13-acre site on Cool Springs Drive in Cranberry Township,

The federal government cited concerns that the product may contain bone fragments — posing a potential health risk to consumers.

A recall was issued for 46 ounce plastic packages containing “Wegmans Family Pack Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast with Rib Meat."

The grocery giant is urging customers to stop eating the frozen product and return the recalled nuggets to the nearest Wegmans for a refund.
