In an ugly, physical game, Purdue found a way to win its seventh straight at Oregon. Who were the Boilermakers key performers?

Trey Kaufman-Renn scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Saturday and No. 17 Purdue stifled No. 13 Oregon in the second half for a 65-58 Big Ten Conference road win in Eugene, Ore.

Only one more half stands between Oregon and the win they were favored to collect coming into this afternoon. They have jumped out to a quick 31-30 lead against Purdue. Oregon entered the match having won three straight and they're just one half away from another.

The Boilermakers are currently 14-4 and the Ducks are 15-2. The Ducks’ record in their last ten games is 7-2 while the Boilermakers’ record is 5-0 in 2025. Wednesday night Purdue won at Washington, 69-58. Oregon also won their last game. The Ducks won at Penn State, 82-81.

Oregon beat itself up for much of this game, and bad shot selection, silly turnovers, and a lack of rebounding were its downfalls. One solace the Ducks can take away is that most of their mistakes are fixable mistakes, but there’s a lot of fixing before the Ducks host Washington Tuesday night.

Purdue’s offense is clicking, scoring 79 or more points in four of its last six games, including 104 against Nebraska two games ago. Smith’s poise at point guard allows the offense to travel well, and the team should find openings behind the arc against a Ducks defense that ranks 140th in 3-point defense vs. the average opponent (per Haslametrics).
