The Connecticut Sun are reportedly sending 5-time All-Star Alyssa Thomas to the Phoenix Mercury in a sign-and-trade deal after 11 seasons.

Brittney Griner is officially moving on from the Phoenix Mercury. Griner is signing a free-agent contract with the Atlanta Dream when free agency opens Sunday, ESPN's Shams Charania and Alexa Phillipou first reported.

According to multiple reports, Phoenix is set to acquire five-time All-Star Alyssa Thomas from Connecticut in a seismic trade. The deal ends Thomas' 10-year run with the Sun, who selected her fourth overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft.

Thomas was designated as the team’s franchise player earlier this month, meaning the only way she could sign with another team was via trade. The move can't become official until Feb. 1.
