The driver of the four-by-four which smashed into a primary school killing two schoolgirls has been bailed for the second time after the Met Police rearrested her. Claire Freemantle, 48, is now due to report to a police station in late April.

The 48-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving for the second time, just under two years after she was initially arrested at the scene of the Wimbledon crash

Both eight-year-olds died after being hit by the vehicle, which crashed into the Study Prep school in Wimbledon on 6 July 2023. The incident occurred while the two girls were celebrating the last day of the summer term with their classmates, which had seen parents and pupils attend a picnic.
