An Avalanche Warning is in effect in northern and central Utah as conditions are particularly dangerous this weekend, according to the Utah Avalanche Center.

A man rescued his brother from a “large avalanche” he triggered while the pair were snowmobiling in Utah on Wednesday, authorities said.

Southern Utah should stay clear of the wet weather, but there’s a slight chance of a stray shower. A cold front is slated to move in this afternoon bringing valley rain and mountain snow. The backside of the cold front will be drier so widespread showers will become more isolated and continue drying out as we get into the evening.
