FC Dallas acquired United States national team defender Shaq Moore in a trade with Nashville SC and signed him to a two-year deal with a club option for 2027.

Nashville Soccer Club traded defender Shaq Moore to FC Dallas Friday in exchange for up to $150,000 in General Allocation Money if Moore meets certain performance metrics, including $50,000 in 2025 GAM and $100,000 in conditional GAM.

Moore joined the FC Dallas Academy in 2014 before departing for Europe in 2015. He made his MLS debut with Nashville in 2022.

The door is open for veteran edge rusher Shaq Barrett to play before the 2024 season is over. The Dolphins waived Barrett off of the reserve/retired list on Thursday and he would not be eligible to play if claimed because he was on the retired list.

“We appreciate the Dolphins giving Shaq this opportunity to continue his career in the NFL,” Barrett’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told Schefter. “Hopefully he will pass through waivers and become a free agent so he can play again this season. He is in great shape and would be ready to play immediately.”

The Miami Dolphins have chosen to waive Shaq Barrett, as the former star linebacker can now play again in 2024 after retiring in the offseason.
