Both times Israel responded by attacking sites in Houthi-controlled Yemen, including fuel tanks and other infrastructure at the Red Sea port of Hudaydah. The Houthis are part of a network of armed groups in the Middle East backed by Iran that includes Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.

The U.S. Navy and Air Force carried out a bombing campaign across Yemen, using B-2 Spirit bombers to hit weapon caches in the country.

American bombers have struck weapons storage facilities in Yemen linked to the Houthi movement, reports Bloomberg. It is noted that this marks the latest attempt to halt attacks by militants that have disrupted commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
