HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans certainly didn’t look like a playoff team in a rout by the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday. With just one game left until the playoffs begin, the AFC South champions know they’ll have to get much better to be competitive in the postseason.

Following a 31-2 loss on Christmas Day against the Baltimore Ravens, the Texans (9-6) are locked into the No. 4 seed for the AFC postseason. Even if they finished 10-7, their record wouldn’t surpass either team in the AFC North to catapult up to the No. 3 seed.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud summed up Houston’s performance in an embarrassing 31-2 loss to Baltimore on Wednesday. “Sometimes you go out there and lay an egg,” Stroud said. “It’s not easy to say that, but that’s what happened.
