If there has been anything close to a certainty about the Rangers in the peaks and valleys of the last two seasons, it’s this: Batting first and playing second base, No. 2, Marcus Semien.

Semien was one of several Rangers who regressed in 2024, especially offensively. His OPS dipped from .826 in 2023 to .699 in 2024 and Texas’ lead-off hitter just wasn’t quite the same.
