Silicon Valley's Intel announced it will begin a new round of layoffs from its Folsom campus in November. Folsom, which is just east of Sacramento, is one of the fastest-growing California cities, and tech jobs are a big reason for it.

Intel, the Bay Area chipmaker, is cutting 319 jobs in Northern California as part of its massive 15,000-worker slash. The company is struggling.

Intel disclosed on Tuesday that mass layoffs will impact 2,000 jobs at locations in Oregon, Arizona and California.
