Tesla's long-awaited "Juniper" refresh of the Model Y has just launched in China.

Tesla has officially revealed the latest version of its Model Y crossover following images leaking online that teased the EV’s redesign. Codenamed “Juniper,” the Model Y 2025 refresh is now live on Tesla’s website in China and other Asia-Pacific markets with deliveries expected to begin in March.

Tesla Inc. officially launched its refreshed Model Y sport utility vehicle in China on Friday and started to take orders, its website showed.

The update is the first major revamp for the Model Y since the electric compact crossover's debut in 2019. The most noticeable change is the new styling, which features a chiseled front end with a light strip that matches the design of the Cybercab robotaxi. A light strip also replaces the separate brake lights found on the current Model Y.

Tesla’s most recent redesign was for the Model 3 “Highland” that made its US debut last year, which also mainly changed the front and rear, along with other tweaks to make it quieter and improve the ride quality.

Deliveries in China and other Southeast Asian countries begin in March, but U.S. availability has not been announced yet. North American deliveries are anticipated to begin this spring, which would make the Model Y Juniper a late 2025 model.
