Nearly 1,300 housekeepers, bellmen, cooks, and other workers at four Boston hotels remained on strike indefinitely Thursday, according to a spokesperson for the hotel workers’ union. The union, pushing for contracts with stronger wages and benefits, said the strike will last until the union reaches an agreement with the hotel chains.

The 206-day strike ended Wednesday when 87 percent of the voted in favor of ratifying the university's contract.

Over 1,200 union employees at four Boston hotels are on strike this week, and they plan to continue their strike for as long as necessary to raise wages.

Thousands of masters and PhD students ratified their first union contract Wednesday and walked away from the picket line.
