Dozens of the guinea pigs were found by the organization’s officers during a rescue operation at an RV home in Ocean Beach earlier this month

The San Diego Humane Society is urgently seeking new homes for its guinea pigs after it recovered more than 50 guinea pigs last week from an mobile home in Ocean Beach.

The lawsuit, which was filed by attorney Bryan Pease against the San Diego Humane Society in 2022, alleges that categorizing friendly, tame, “adoptable” cats as community cats and releasing them outdoors instead of holding them in the shelter for adoption is illegal abandonment.

The animals are joined by 84 others, 11 of whom were also relinquished the same day in December, making a total of 135 of the animals available for walk-in adoption
