Sporting CP have fired Ruben Amorim's successor João Pereira eight games into his tenure as head coach and named Rui Borges to the role.

Sporting CP, who slipped to the second spot in the Primeira Liga standings and suffered four consecutive defeats across competitions shortly after Pereira succeeded Amorim, have named Rui Borges as the new head coach until June 2026.

Sporting CP manager Joao Pereira has been fired following a poor run of form, just six weeks after he replaced Ruben Amorim.
