Jefferson County man shot while sleeping, possibly by New Year’s celebratory gunfire
New Year’s celebratory gunfire may have led to an Alabama man being shot in his bed early Wednesday. Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 5:54 a.m. to a report of a person shot at Rusk Mobile Home Park on Pinson Valley Parkway.

A preliminary investigation showed the man was shot was asleep in his bed and the shooting may be the result of celebratory gunfire. No arrests have been made in the case so far.
