Authorities in Fond du Lac County say no injuries were reported following a fire Wednesday night that appears to have been caused by a wood pellet stove. According to a release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office,

When the Oakfield Fire Department and Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office deputies responded, the fire had spread to the attic. A resident of the area was also at the scene with a fire extinguisher attempting to keep the fire from spreading to the rest of the house.

Around 7:16 p.m. Wednesday, crews were called to a residence with flames visible at N3319 Oak Center Road in the town of Oakfield.

Looking only at single-family homes, the $258,900 median selling price in Fond du Lac County was down 5.3% in October from $273,500 the month prior. Since October 2023, the sales price of single-family homes was up 3.6% from a median of $250,000. No single-family homes sold for $1 million or more during the month.
