Wisconsin election officials discovered nearly 200 absentee ballots went uncounted during November’s general election. The missing ballots were found “during post-election reconciliation and cleanup” and did not affect the outcome of any election,

The Madison City Clerk's Office announced Thursday that 193 absentee ballots from the November 5, 2024, general election were not properly processed.

The City of Madison more than a month after the November election announced it had found nearly 200 absentee ballots that were never counted before election results were certified.

The number of ballots was not enough the affect the outcome of any races on the ballot in these areas, the Clerk's Office said.

Officials still don’t know how election workers at two polling places overlooked the ballots in sealed containers on Election Day or why it took so long to discover them.
