The Buffalo Sabres cruised to a blowout victory over the Chicago Blackhawks as they try and turn their season around.

The Sabres uncharacteristically were able to get some balanced scoring throughout their lineup, as Zach Benson opened the scoring halfway through the first period and the line of Jack Quinn, Dylan Cozens, and JJ Peterka contributed a pair of tallies.

The Buffalo Sabres are back from the three-day NHL holiday break to host the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday. Visiting teams were not allowed to travel on Thursday, so the Blackhawks left for Buffalo Friday morning.
