Denali National Park is such a unique experience. We were with a land tour group after our cruise. Actually, the closest view of Mt Denali isn't actually from the national park (that is from Talkee…Full review by PenguinMomma

Hello I'm going on a cruise to Alaska next month 5/15 - 5/22. I will be at Anchorage for 3 day 2 night after my Princess cruise. It's shoulder seasons. My wish was to visit the Denali NP and Wonder Lake, but found out after doing research that wonder lake not going to open until June. :( Do you recommend I still do the shuttle bus to Toklat River? Will I see wildlife and find good hiking trails to go on? Which ones do you recommend? Thank you in advance for your advice!
Hi, I was wondering if three people want to take the School bus trip into Denali, how do we book it in advance for June? Who do we contact : I did not see reference to an actual tour group. Thanks, Linda

Lots of ways to book. If you are traveling through Princess, you can book through their travel planners on site, much like a concierge but set up to really get visitors set up. Denali also has a big welcome center that is not only worth a visit but can provide you with appropriate literature in including the very popular bus tours. We did the 4.5 hour trip, and it was soooo good I wish I would have taken a longer 6+ hour ride. The ranger station stop is interesting. We caught up with a massive moose that we were able to watch for awhile. Biggest Moose I had ever seen and have seen a few. You should also be able to google the "Denali Bus Rides" to get more detail, we found lots of info when we searched for it.
What is the best way to see the park ? Take the narrirated tour bus or the national park bus where you can get off and on.

I would recommend the National Park bus where you can get on and off!! It’s 40 dollars cheaper, you see the same things, and the drivers are super informative. Some of them will even end up giving you all the information you’d get on a narrated tour if you know the right things to ask or get a talkative driver. Be aware that entrance to the park is seasonal—it closes mid September and will open back up in late spring.
My family is taking the bus trip to Wonder Lake. My kids are 10 and 12. Our tour leaves at 6:45AM. I know they don't give you food and there is nothing to buy along the way. Are you allowed to bring food on the bus? We aren't due back until 6:45PM and not sure we can go all day without eating anything.TIA
