Hello, sorry for the very late reply. We hope you had an opportunity to see the bloom last year. This year, we had a very nice bloom as well (not a super bloom), but unfortunately we had to close the Reserve. As of May 16, 2020, we are still closed until further notice. The poppies have now mostly withered away in the heat, so let's hope that next year will be a good year, both for poppies, humans and everything else.

Still should be blooming through the end of the month... unless there is a heatwave., If you are going on the weekend, remember to arrive early if you wish to park in the lot. The poppies do not fully open until it gets warm, so be patient (unless it is overcast or stays cold)

Yes! The poppies were spectacular on April 15, 2019. Go early if you can, to avoid the crowds. The buds were still closed when we arrived, but were fully open just after 10am.

As of April 12th, the reports are the poppies Antelope Valley are near peak. When we visited, the rangers said they believed the poppies would last through April.
